Developing a ‘world’s first’

Lanka Impact Investment Network (LIIN), is a group of experienced professionals with the shared vision to build a social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka.

Challenge

With the development of technology and the rapid use of various marketing techniques, it is not always easy to come up with a new concept to popularize unique propositions that are built around social entrepreneurship.

Reaching out to people using digital channels becomes vital to promote and educate new concepts and ideas. It is important to ensure that the right platform and channel is used to communicate the concept to the target audience.

Execution

We came up with the idea of creating the world’s first social credit score for this campaign. A comprehensive strategy was required to promote and educate people about this noble concept. Therefore, we created a Facebook app that was integrated to the LIIN web domain. An algorithm that would identify and provide a ‘score’ for anyone who shares various social entrepreneurship related content on Facebook via LIIN was created to serve the purpose. This social credit score would appear on their profile. This concept was integrated with Facebook as it is one of the most commonly used social media platforms.
